Photo of the Week - Morning Light

How I Got the Shot:

I woke up early to the sound of thunder, grabbed a cup of coffee, and headed out the door. After heavy rains the night before, morning clouds covered Skamania Cove like a warm blanket.

As I walked along the water's edge, I noticed the clouds begin to break.
The change in the weather was a welcome sight.  Experience told me something beautiful was about to develop. I headed down a long dock that gave me a better vantage point to set up my camera and view what was developing in front of me.

Suddenly, about a half mile up the river, the sun began to break through the clouds, casting rays of light down on the glistening water below. I quickly composed my shot and managed to capture the feeling and emotion of the scene. A moment later it was gone.
