Photo of the Week: Soul-Searching
How I Created The Shot:
I've stood on this bluff many times over the years. It's a quiet place where you can reflect on where you are in life and what the future holds for you.
On this peaceful morning, I found myself mesmerized by the gentle waves that lapped over the rocks and the brushstrokes of color that fill the sky, all framed by the majestic cliffs that line the shore.
When I set up for this shot, the feet of my tripod were inches away from the edge of the cliff. I must admit I found it difficult to focus on the shot as I was concerned about my safety. The last thing I want to be known for is, "a casualty of carelessness."
Unfortunately for me, there were no alternatives; this was the only composition I liked. I either took the risk or abandoned the shot. Reluctantly, I chose to move forward with it, but I was extremely careful.
I pressed the shutter several times as the color was quickly fading. This is my favorite shot of the morning.
